So it’s official.
Canada will be seeing it’s 4th federal election in seven years, come Monday, May 2, 2011.
Our blog, the UGLY Chinese Canadian, are contacting fellow curmudgeons and other coveted ‘ballot marking’ participants to share thoughts, gossip and hot facts with us over the course of the upcoming months.
We hope to focus on the activities of the major Vote entrepreneurship effort that has been unleashed onto our nation’s population by the vote hungry politicians… in particular, those activities that target the ethnic/ immigrant/ Asian community.

We will also share our thoughts and opinions on Asian candidates who will be competing against each other in the tight races here in Metro Vancouver.
Hell, we still like to take credit for knocking off Conservative candidate Wai Young in Vancouver South during the last election.
Our late friend, “Umeboshi“, a granny out of Laval Quebec, had written a number of times to the Conservative Party of Canada of her thoughts – and had predicted this tight outcome. She had even shared her disappointment of Ms Wai Young as a candidate to the Conservative Party. Shucks… we wish other fellow citizens had Umeboshi’s passion. Our blog sure miss Umeboshi’s wit and dedication.

We want to support the Liberal party but the party has again and again insulted us by giving Mr. Dosanjh a platform to insult our community and we are not going to take this anymore – enough is enough. We are happy to support Wai Young as we believe she is the right candidate for this riding, especially since Mr. Dosanjh has done nothing for the riding except collect government cheques while insulting the Sikh community…she lost by only 20 votes last time but this we are going to make sure she wins by a 1000.

So I’m doing some online research about this so-called “Ujjah-slayer” finding out what organizations she’s been involved in and interestingly enough, NONE of the ones she’s listed on her website are of recent or significant contributions…it’s almost non-existent. The only contribution I found and validated was the ones here (which conveniently was not mentioned on her website):

I know the conservatives are saying -get over it, it was a legit deal… but over a million dollars of taxpayer’s money has been given to Wai Young since 2008!! Has anyone questioned exactly how she used 1/2 million dollars each time to “organize” a 3 day language conference?!! Seriously. A million dollars?!
Also I wouldn’t be too comfortable knowing that my MP is actively being sued in both Supreme and Small Claims Court. Just search her name.

Folks, this is just from googling her name. Imagine what there is to find out about her beyond the internet. Can we trust a candidate that has so much scandal surrounding her. What else is she hiding? Please think before you vote for a candidate based solely on their party or how “nice” she is in person. BTW did anyway see all her photoshopped/ air-brushed campaign pictures VS. real candid media shots?! Again… what is she hiding?
At least Dosanjh has the transparency to give people the confidence that he will be open and forthcoming with the people he represents.
